After two years of hard-working, the company has finally beaten Xiaomi to become the No.1 smartphone brand in India as per the counterpoint research report. Samsung has shown 32% year growth to beat the Chinese smartphone brand market here.
According to the counterpoint report, Samsung collects a 24% market share in Q3 2020 as compared to Xiaomi 23% share, and the rest of the share is collected by three popular brands Vivo, Realme, and Oppo who bagged 17%, 16%, and 8% respectively.

How Samsung beat Xiaomi to become No.1 smartphone brand in India ?
The research report says about the company performance in Q3 2020 was because of multiple strategies the brand employed including an effective supply chain and being able to touch multiple price points thanks to a whole bunch of new smartphone launches also the company online selling smartphones was the highest contribution to help become the No.1 smartphone brand in India. The Indian smartphone shipments grew 9% to touch 53 million units in Q3 2020. Counterpoint also adds, is the highest growth in shipments in a quarter for the Indian smartphone market.
The lockdown has been lifted the high demand and online sales lead to this growth. The expert analyst at counterpoint said that the smartphone market is on a recovery path as the lockdown restrictions, the market has shown consistent growth for the last few months. They also said September has been a high sell-in month as brands witnessing record growth as compared to last year. The Anti-China sentiment may be the reason for beating Xiaomi.
