The so-called App alternative of TikTok, is back now on Google Play Store after it was removed due to violating privacy policies. According to Google statement had mentioned that if developers at Mitron App fix the issues, so the app can be resubmitted and will be back again.
In its Statment Google had said, “A number of recent app removals received particular attention in India and we wanted to clarify our actions. Earlier this week, we removed a video app for a number of technical policy violations. We have an established process of working with developers to help them fix issues and resubmit their apps. We’ve given this developer some guidance and once they’ve addressed the issue the app can go back up on Play Store.”
Why Mitron is risky to use according to Cyber experts ?
According to Maharashtra cyber Mirton installed by more than 5 million users in very less time but this app has major security vulnerability that lets threat actors exploit users account by easily by passing account. Usually when we install any app  Google asks user permission to access their profile information via Google account while signing up but, Mitron doesn’t use it or create anv secret tokens for authentication.
Mitron app is also not using the Secure Sockets Layer( SSL) protocol for the login. So Hackers can easily take control of users accounts and even send messages, follow other users and comment on their behalf. secondly Mitron is not an Indian product. It actually a re-packaged version of the Tic Tic app created by Pakistani Software development company Qboxus.
So the state IT cell advises users to uninstall  the app as for precautionary measure to safe personal information and data.
Why Google removed Mitron from Play Store ?
Due to some privacy policy that Mitron developers can not follow them. Google decided to remove the app from Play Store, but not permanently Google said that developers can fix the issues in app then we take back the app in Play Store.
