A New Product Experiment (NPE) team of Facebook testing a new app called Collab for making short music videos like TikTok. This app are in beta version right now and available only on iOS as an invite-only. The NPE team claims that the app allows users to watch, create and mix-match the original videos with same music which is much similar to TikTok. In Collab app users can sync three videos simultaneously instead of two. The NPE team also states that the Collab app designed to help people unlock their creativity amid the Coronavirus lockdown.
Working of Collab app
Collab app function similar to TikTok . It can make videos and sync with existing videos of other users. However, users can sync three videos in Landscape mode unlike TikTok’s two videos vertical mode. But the final video will still appears in vertical mode.
In Collab app, users can share their video on social media platforms. once a user created a collab so they can publish for others to watch and mix-match further. Users can also share their collab video to Instagram and Facebook stories. But there is no information about the app that it requires an account to watch video of other users.
How to install app in iOS ?
Currently, the app is in beta phase and can be available as invite only. People can also register on the NPE website to get the beta version of app. Facebook going to launch invites in batches and starting primarily in USA and Canada. Before 2020, Many companies launched their clone of TikTok App but they got failed in out performing TikTok. Facebook is planning to launch Collab App this year in India.
